Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We have been a family owned and operated business for 55 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Easton Country Club, Ltd., is a semi-private, 18 hole golf course with an elegant function room perfect for weddings, anniversaries, fundraisers and other gatherings.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My grandfather owned the land as a dairy farm. In 1961 he hired locally well-known architect, Sam Mitchell, to design and build a 9 hole course. Unfortunately, he passed away shortly after the course opened. However, my father was able to purchase some additional farm land that had come onto the market and expanded the course to 18 holes in 1968. We added the function room in 2000 at which time my father asked me to join the family business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have a well maintained, enjoyable layout for our course which attracts golfers of all abilities. Whether as a member or a public fee golfer, our customers seem to enjoy the relaxed, friendly environment and the affordable prices. Our banquet facility also boasts fantastic service, delicious cuisine, at a great value.
